1. Who We Are

Talento (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a skills-based hiring platform operated by WE HUMAN, MB, registered in the Republic of Lithuania (company code: 305711625, registered address: Aukštaičių g. 16-63, LT-11341 Vilnius, Lithuania). We can be reached at privacy@talento.lt.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use our website at talento.lt and our related services (collectively, the “Service”). It applies to candidates (“Talent”), employers (“Companies”), and visitors.

2. Data We Collect

a) Data you provide directly

  • Account registration details (name, email address, password hash)
  • Profile information (skills, tools, work experience, portfolio links, photo)
  • LinkedIn profile data imported via OAuth (name, headline, experience, education)
  • Challenge submissions (links to work, project descriptions)
  • Company profile details (company name, logo, industry, billing address)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers)
  • Communications with us (support requests, emails)

b) Data collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps
  • Device and browser information (user-agent, screen size, language)
  • IP address and approximate geolocation (country/city level)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Providing the Service — creating and managing your account, running AI evaluations of challenge submissions, matching candidates to job opportunities.
  • AI-powered features — your submission content and profile data are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate evaluation scores and summaries. Anthropic processes this data under its own privacy policy; we do not allow it to be used to train Anthropic’s models.
  • Payments — processing subscription and credit purchases via Stripe.
  • Communications — sending transactional emails (account verification, AI results, application updates) via Resend.
  • Platform improvement — analysing usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs.
  • Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under applicable law, including GDPR.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Legitimate interests — improving the platform, preventing fraud, and maintaining security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligation — complying with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Consent — for optional cookies and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (hosted on AWS eu-central-1).
  • Anthropic — AI evaluation of challenge submissions.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Cloudflare R2 — file and media storage.
  • Companies — your public profile and challenge results are visible to companies using Talento when you apply for their challenges or job posts.
  • Legal authorities — when required by applicable law or court order.

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes beyond what is necessary.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • Profile, submission, and usage data is deleted within 30 days.
  • Financial records (invoices, payment history) are retained for 10 years as required by Lithuanian / EU accounting law.
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Cookies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — authentication session tokens. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — to understand how the platform is used. You can opt out in your browser settings or by contacting us.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Restriction — request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any right, email privacy@talento.lt. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (ada.lt) or your local supervisory authority.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission is completely secure. In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority as required by GDPR.

10. International Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is hosted in the EU (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt). Some processors (Anthropic, Stripe, Resend) are based in the United States. Transfers are made under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other GDPR-compliant transfer mechanisms.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at persons under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
